Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
I come in Jesus name today to say thank you. Thank you that when I judged others you were kind enough to get me to a place of recognizing your grace rather than destroying me or doing to me what I thought others deserved. I know people are despicable and because I try not to be, I sometimes forget I actually am too. So I pray today a prayer of thanks. Thank you for gracing me with time. Time enough to see who I am and all the mercy grace and forgiveness you've bestowed on me. I know we can’t excuse sin, but we can find a way to love the sinner knowing how much you love us. So when we demand correction and reproof, help it to be with the desire that the person prayed for come to despise their own sin and repent.
Today Lord we repent and pray especially for those of us who are in positions of leadership, parents, teachers, preachers, you know, those whose lives in any way, big or small, impact others! Sit them down when and if they continue in sin, living in darkness; so they can look up in order that they might be saved. May we keep in the forefront of our minds, the fruits of the Spirit, and measure ourselves by them. May we use them as a guide to adjust our thinking, speaking and behaving.
Fill us oh God with those fruits. Thank you everyday for all you do to stop is on our own tracks, even when we don’t always like it. You are fixing us for home. Thank you! In Jesus name, amen.
